Dr. Shirley Davis is a global workforce expert, certified leadership coach, a licensed minister and ordained elder, and a master of reinvention. She is also President and CEO of SDS Global Enterprises, Inc., a strategic development solutions firm that specializes in HR strategy development, talent management, organization transformation, diversity, equity & inclusion, implicit bias, leadership excellence, and personal and professional reinvention. She has worked in more than 30 countries consulting, coaching and presenting to leaders at all levels.
Dr. Davis has over 30 years of business, leadership, and human resources experience and has worked at several Fortune 100 and Fortune 50 companies in various senior and executive leadership roles in sales, operations, banking, retail, manufacturing, utilities, and financial services. Her last role prior to launching SDS Global was as the Global Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion and Workplace Strategies for the world’s largest HR association (SHRM). She has also served in her local church as Associate Minister, Missionary, Director of Women’s Ministry, and as Board member for the past 20 years.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Pre-Law; a Master’s in HR Management and a Master’s in Christian Education; and a Ph.D. in Business and Organization Management, with a specialization in Leadership. She is certified as a Senior HR Professional through the Human Resources Certification Institute and The Society for Human Resource Management (SPHR and SHRM-SCP respectively). Additionally, she is a Certified Speaking Professional earned through the National Speaker’s Association, a designation only bestowed on less than 20% of speakers worldwide. She is also a certified leadership coach earned through the International Coaching Federation.
She has been featured and quoted on NBC’s The Today Show, CNN.com. in the Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, Fox Television, Black Enterprise Magazine, The Washington Post, HR Magazine, and Inclusion Magazine, and has been honored with numerous awards. She’s a former Miss District of Columbia, Mrs. Oklahoma, Ms. Virginia, and in 2000 she was crowned Ms. America United States. She serves on the national boards of the National Speakers Association and the Make A Wish Foundation.
